Hourly Cafeteria Worker
Job Description: An Hourly Cafeteria Worker is an entry-level position for cafeteria employment. Hourly workers may be called to work one to five days per week; depending on the vacancy at the school. The employee has the ability to accept or decline work as it is made available.
Mandatory requirements of the job: ability to lift 40 pounds, wear a hair restraint and no acrylic fingernails/painted fingernails. You must like children! Some of the work that an Hourly Cafeteria Worker may do in the course of the day includes (but is not limited to): cleaning, sweeping, mopping, serving, operating a dish machine, washing pots and pans, cashiering, putting away inventory, taking temperatures and completing records.
Salary Information: Hourly employees are paid for time worked at $10.10 an hour. If the employee is recommended for per diem (per day) hire, they will earn $11.37 an hour. For an employee to qualify for this level, they must be recommended by a manager and have a long-term evaluation completed and attends a two hour sanitation class.
Shift Type: Typically, an employee will work between the hours of 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.; no more than 3.75 hours a day.
