Facilities

 

To help maintain the buildings of the school system in a condition of operating excellence to ensure that full use may be made at all times.

DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES

INCLUDE

       Inspects roof membranes, walls and decks and locates leaks.

       Applies waterproofing and mastic to walls, decks, and roof areas.

       Uses hot and cold roofing repair materials properly and safely.

       Sets up, climbs to roof areas, and works from ladders and scaffolding at heights up to 40 feet.

       Applies caulking, seals cracks, and repairs blisters and splits.

       Oversees roof replacement projects to ensure compliance with bidding specifications and industry standards.

       Cleans and repairs roof drains, downspouts, and associated piping.

       Assists in the move of school equipment, supplies, and materials.

       Responds and assists during emergency situations including, but not limited to, inclement weather assignments, vandalism, and emergency repairs.

       Performs other work-related duties as assigned

SALARY

 

Grade 3 of the Salary Schedule for AFSCME ($29,846)

REQUIREMENTS

 

    High school diploma or GED.

    One year experience in the trade.

    Hold and maintain a valid Class B commercial driver’s license.

    Physically able to perform the essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodations, of the everyday responsibilities including lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds and the ability to climb ladders in the excess of 15 feet. Various lifts, tools and mechanical means of assistance should be employed for lifting heavier supplies, equipment and material.

    Possess basic knowledge and skill in the use of hand and power tools associated with the trade.

    Must be familiar with terms of the trade including drawing interpretation and application techniques.

    Must be available to respond to emergency calls, including after hour emergencies.
