Chief of Administration

 

Provides leadership, direction, and supervision for all non-instructional operations of the school system, including: Business Services, Communications, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations, and Safety and Security.

 

DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES

INCLUDE

       Serves as a member of the HCPS Leadership Team and performs as Superintendent’s designee or person-in-charge during Superintendent’s absence.

       Serves as the liaison to school system stakeholders and advisor for the Superintendent and Board of Education on operations and administrative issues.

       Interprets and enforces Board policy to the public and system personnel in areas of assignment.

       Provides leadership and oversight for the development and implementation of the school system Operating Budget and the Capital Improvement Program.

       Provides leadership and oversight to special projects and initiatives related to HCPS administrative goals.

       Serves as the Superintendent’s designee in staff appeal and disciplinary actions.

       Facilitates collaboration with instructional leaders to seek, coordinate, plan and implement solutions to administrative or operational concerns.

       Evaluates staff as assigned by the Superintendent.

       Studies school system organizational patterns and recommends to the Superintendent refinements to system structure.

       Serves as legislative liaison to state and local elected officials for matters related to the school system.

       Supports the Superintendent in communications with community and governmental agencies.

       Serves on a variety of systemwide committees and workgroups.

       Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

 

 

SALARY

Salary Range: $166,180 - $192,648

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

 

       Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in School Administration, Business Management, or other related field of study

 

       Five years of successful administrative experience with preference given to work within an education setting

 

       Extensive knowledge of and expertise in operations, planning and construction, business services, human resources, informational and instructional technology, communications, and safety and security

 

       Demonstrated ability and experience in a continuous improvement environment

 

       Experience in budgeting for large projects and organizations

 

       Excellent oral and written communication skills with diverse populations

 

       Excellent customer service skills with an ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff and the public

       Knowledge of relevant Federal and State Regulations within Education and current trends and research in support services

 

       Proficient with computer technology and Microsoft Office Suite
