Serves as an itinerant educator to disabled infants and toddlers with developmental delays and acts as a consultant to their parents or caregivers, as appropriate. These services will be provided in the child’s home, daycare setting, preschool center, or community settings.
Performs developmental assessments, gathers pertinent information and produces written documents utilizing word processing.
Completes evaluations and assessments, analyzes data, and determines eligibility for new referrals.
Participates in the development of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP).
Plans and conducts home-based and center-based parent/infant activities to promote and facilitate developmental gains.
Coordinates instruction and related services, and consults with other professionals from outside agencies, as needed.
Coordinates with the early intervention staff in the transition of children into other appropriate levels of service and/or community settings as the age of three.
Serves as a resource to parents and caregivers.
Participates in parent workshops and conferences.
Provides services during the summer months, as required.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
